TRAKTOR EGR SOLENOID FAULTY?

Is there any way of checking whether the above is working? I have cleaned the EGR and it appears to be working.
However, I have an issue where when I take my foot off the accelerator the revs drop, a bit too low I would say, and the engine hesitates before returning to normal. So gear changes are a bit of a lumpy affair.
The car has been like this for a couple of years now and I would like to put this problem to bed if I can.

Any suggestions welcome.

blank off egr as a test - if that cures, you know its egr related :)

Hmm sounds like dirty pot in injector pump to me> diesel magic trick may help? :y

How should I blank off the EGR? Do I just leave the connecting pipe between EGR and solenoid disconnected?

Diesel magic trick? Just in fuel?

Sorry for my ignorance. I think I know what is being suggested but  would just like confirmation.

put a small amount of thin metal between pipe and egr valve.

Diesel magic, whip off fuel filter, empty it, then fill it with diesel magic, refit, and start. This runs neat diesel magic through the pump/injectors.

Okay understood. I'll blank the egr off today and see what happens. When I fill the filter with diesel magic how long should I run the engine for? I would like to switch the engine off and leave the stuff to soak in the pump if possible.

I always run mine long enough (ie couple of mins) so all the diesel magic has disappeared through exhaust....
