head gasket???

Hi guys, just picked up a 96 omega today and i thought it was fine....its a 2 litre 16 valve. It drives perfect but is heating up too 100 degrees when in traffic but is fine when its on the go, and the fan seems to be working over time when it gets hot....any suggestions??? Or am i looking at big money to fix..??? thanks in advance!!

Is there any oil in the coolant? Is there any coolant in the oil?

Sounds perfectly normal to me so unless you find either of the above it sounds perfectly fine to me.

100C is way too hot.

Are you using coolant?

May be worth doing a decent flush of the coolant, then see where you go from there.

Im gonna check it today and get a mate who is a mechanic to bleed out the cooling system and put new coolent in.....

I suggest you also get him to pop in a new thermostat whilst he's at it. 8-) 8-)
