Coolant Level Sensor
« on: 03 March 2009, 22:04:31 »

Howdy  :)

Mig has been hassling me since aquisition about coolant level - there is however plenty in the expansion tank.  Understand this is a common fault - anyone tell me if it is much hassle/expense to fix?

Any help much appreciated!

Replace the header tank...got one here thats fine if you want it...its the built in sensor on the bottom that screws up...

Very easy to swap over, about 15 mins work at most  :y

You could always undo the plug underneath the bottle & short out the terminals - that'll get shut of the message.  :y

You'll need to buy an expansion tank complete with sensor, I had to do the same job ;)
I bought it from VX its best to buy it new, you dont want to contaminate your cooling system, plus its guaranteed for 12 months I think I paid about £30.
Hope this helps

£15 delivered...why does the system need draining?? Header tank is above everything else, just unplug and remove the pipes, and fit back to the new tank and top up the tank with coolant...
