Sad day - Whats it worth?????
« on: 08 March 2009, 18:54:10 »

Hello,

Today is a sad day, I no longer will be an Omega owner.

I have got an Elite 3.0 V6 on a P reg. About 15 months ago spent a fair bit on it. Had a full respray, brand new engine etc.

Since then nothing but bad look or bad workmanship don't know.

First of all work was done by a freind of mine. Normally a good mechanic. I have seen him fit numerous engines in meega's and they are still running fine.

In the last 15 months i have had the cambelt snap (now fixed), numerous leaks people opening doors on my new paint work, found a crack on the windscreen yesterday and finally now the head gasket blew in cloud of white smoke. Car still starts and drives.

As i am not mechanically minded enough to fix head gasket, and no money to have it done.

I'm Sick of throwing money at it so i am going to sell as is or break for parts.

So whats it worth?

Elite Nuvola Blue (silvery/blue) P reg.
3.0 v6 done bout 5000 mile since put in.
Car done 151.000 ish
16" cdx wheels on with decent tyres, but also 19" TSW needs 3 tyres.
Leather
MoMo Gear knob
Full Stainless exhaust system from cats. Also has gas bottle fitments for flames.
Lowered -40mm
Pioneer speakers. One on passengers front door could do with replacing. Also has two in console behind rear armrest, one could do with replacing.

I'm sure one of you guys with expertise could restore it to its former glory.

Will try here first, then e-bay and finally break it up (boo Hoo)

Sorry its a manual

Cheers Damian

Agree with Markey, to get rid of it as a whole you really wont get much for it...sell the bits and the total would certainly way outway that...its really up to you...
I would certainly be kicking your mates a*se for clearly botching up putting in a brand new engine which no doubt cost you a fortune!!

Wouldnt mind pics of the 19's mate...

Got engine pretty cheap. Was from a factory that imports and exports engines and new some one who worked there (no warranty damn). £500. Then price of fitting etc.

As for mate can't really prove it was him. I had other garages doing minor work on it aswell (Rocker Covers etc). Also was running sweet when it left his workshop.
