removing crankshaft pulley

has anyone got any tips on how to remove the retaining nut that doesn't seem to want to move???

There is a special tool to counter hold it with.....there on to around 150Nm

windy gun usually shifts it too :y failing that then wedge a socket on a breaker bar onto the chassi and flick key to jerk the starter, never had one fail to come off that way, but only a flick mind you dont want the engine to start!!!! :y

If you try the breaker bar method disconnect the dis pk lead so it wont start :y

tried it with a very heavy duty airgun and that didn't touch it so did the breaker bar against the chassis trick and that worked a treat so thanks for that tip

LOL, was having exactly the same problem myself on Sunday.

Now awaiting Machine Mart to send me 2 new sockets (one for crank, another for one of the torx used on big ends), as they let me down - causing some painful scrapped knuckles ;D

welcome buddy glad it sorted it, to be honest i dont bother with any other way now, if it doesent undo by hand the first tiem the breaker bar comes out!!!!

LOL must be stripping the old TD??? keep the turbo if you still have it will take it to me mates next time i get over!! lets see what he can do with it just for the crack!!! :y
