traction control switch
« on: 04 April 2009, 23:51:41 »

hi all
i am in the process of fitting the sat nav equipment into my p reg v6 est and all is well except that my traction control switch is located in the position that the small screen will go, however above this in the row of switches ,heated seats etc there is a blank cover would it be possible to relocate the traction control switch here? obviously i will need a switch that matches the others as the current one is to long and of a different shape than the one needed. any ideas anybody.thanks

yup, next to right heated seat switch - move the wiring up there.

you'll need switch from earlier Vectra-B, as 1998/9 Omega switches are different

You'll be moving the 3 spade type connectors from the connector block you are removing and plugging them into the holes where the new switch is going - obvious when you look at it

have at last done the relocation today but i found it not as simple as i thought, yes the vectra switch plugs straight into the space next to the right heated seat switch but the configuration of the terminals on the back is different and the plug behind the new position had 4 wires already wired up so i ended up splicing the wires from both switches togetherand taping up the ones not used.
