Hi i have just taken a tow bar from 1999 saloon and i was just wondering if it will fit 2003 saloon,
help required

It'll fit, but I think officially the facelift uses a different bar because the facelift bumper is deeper. It'll mean there's less clearance behind the ball.

just one concern  check that the towbar you removed has a european approval plate on it. Its usually on the towbar arm itself. although as you say the car it came from was 1999 so should be approved

The law states that all cars manufactured post 1st Aug 98 have a towbar of european approval type. I have been stopped on one of those  >:(police caravan  >:( checks they hold on motorway service stations and one item they checked was the towbar eec approval

I've been looking for a towbar recently, all quotes I've had are for all models 94 onwards, seems like the aftermarket ones are the same for all models

Because its blocking the license plate a bit.

The Bosal (Saloon) one I removed will fit all Carlton and Omega saloons.  :y
