My Omega is a 1994 3.0L V6 Elite/auto.
I am in the process of changing cam cover gaskets - the passenger side leaks, drivers side fine.
At the same time I have replaced O rings, as a few were missing or worn/brittle, and replaced inlet gaskets.
Cleaned out breathers, and will do some more bits over the next few days.
The EGR to plenum had no gasket , and had an air leak.
Also I am still investigating tapping noises, which were thought to be hydraulic lifters.
Now, the strange thing I found was that of the three drivers side inlet ports, the centre one was absolutely spotlessly clean compared to all the other inlet ports, as were the valves. Why would one port be so clean ?? So clean that it looks as it would when new ! :-?
My wild guess, has this port had new valves fitted ??
Or is there some other reason for this strange find ?? :-/
Anyone have any ideas, or seen anything like this before ??
Since I bought the car in April, it has driven perfectly, and performed well, apart from the tappety noise which is more obvious when cold, and eventually quietens down when warmed up, or driving at above 30mph.
Thanks in advance for any comments, or advice...
