Accelerator cable
« on: 16 May 2009, 20:01:25 »

Just rebuilt the plenum chamber up and put the accelerator cable on and i carn't remember were the push on h looking clip went (how far up or down the cable if you get my drift) on. Is this just an adjustment clip for the pedal or somthing else. :-[ :-[

Think i have sorted my misfire anyway cleaned all the plus and inside the leads with ipa and all seem's fine will take it for a ggood run later. :)

Is it the curved shaped pin you're on about?

If so, on the V6, the pin slides in the little holes of the ball on the end of the accelerator cable.  Once in the curved bit should be pointing down and should clip around the ball.  It acts as a locking pin.

Hope this helps mate, unless I've mis understood.

I know the one your on about mate its not that one thats in place. Its further up on the cable i say h but it has an opening at the bottom and is flat at top (I think i'm confusing myself now its the clip on the cable not the securing clip on the end).
Thanks for the help though mate. :y

It clips onto the balck corrugated section of the cable sleeve.

It needs to be fitted on the bulk head side of the metal cable mount bracket with only a small amount of slack left in the cable

I thought so i have put it on the right side but i'm not sure about how much slack i have left on it. I will nip out and check.

If you ahve to much slack then you wont get full throttle and on an auto, kick down wont work.

To little and you get high idle
