I would say that is too thin.

5w30 or upwards is allowed according to the manual so I'd say it's OK. If the engine is a particularly high mileage example it might burn a little more oil on 5w30.

Just to say.. it won't noticeably alter performance. A little smoother after a cold start during the winter is all I've noticed.

Personally, I'd stick with Vx's own-brand 10/40 semi-synthetic.

I've just had four 5-litre cans from the stealers for 37 quid.
I can't see a performance gain by using a lower viscosity oil. As Kevin rightly says, cold-starts may be better, but I reckon that's just about the only difference you might experience.

Really thin.I've already used 5W30 in my 3.0V6 at around 260.000km. I could hear the tappets after start, so the sound of the cold motor wasn't so good. I've changed to 10W40 at the next period, and now OK.

as stated 5w30 is thin oil and mostly used on Honda cars.. I've tried both 0-40 and 10-40 on miggy ..
0-40 only a bit better in very cold winter..
