Knock sensors
« on: 04 June 2009, 15:32:00 »

I had hoped that my cambelt change would improve the engine running. It was "out a bit" but really I haven't noticed a real improvement.

Reading valliant92's sick of this car thread got me wondering if my long term problem is knock sensor related. It sounds like a tractor when running particularly under load.

So are they easy to change( I have had a look at Haynes), test or check the wiring? Are they expensive? What is best  - New VX, pattern or secondhand ? Are they the same part for both sides?
The thing is I have never had a knock sensor code on the paperclip test so have never thought about it as a possibility. Oooh quite exciting.
