That darned alarm again !
« on: 23 June 2009, 22:49:02 »

Alarm just gone off again for no reason at all. I switched it off and as I was checking the under bonnet trip switch, I could hear a very faint "Wheeoo Wheeoo" siren sound (Yes alright, stop sniggering. You try describing a sound via text :D). Even though the doors were unlocked I pressed the unlock on the key fob and it stopped.
When I say faint, I was directly above the power sounder location and could just about hear it.
Any ideas what it is ?  I've not had any chirping warnings that the sounder is about to throw a wobbly.

The PS siren is usually VERY loud when it activates .. as yours is very quiet the batteries are probably FUBAR and the chirps have been too quiet for you to hear them.

New PS is around £60 from VX ... but someone on the forum was looking at doing replacement batteries ....

I would unplug the PS while you decide  .... that should stop the false alarms

Hmm...makes sense. Got the injector pump to change tomorrow (many thanks to Richy08, Omegatoy and TB for all the help and advice). I'll do it then.

Doh !!  It's gone off again, so I've just been out to disconnected it.
Easy enough. Remove wiper arm, undo one Torx head screw, lift up plastic cover, disconnect sounder. Job done.

No more evil eyes from the neighbours.
Well, at least not until I next use the Harley on an early morning start  ::)
