Autobox issues
« on: 01 July 2009, 20:13:28 »

I have a minor issue with my 2.5CDX Auto.
I do a 48 mile round trip to work twice a week.
I park in a multi storey car park, and always reverse into a space. put selector into park, turn off engine. When I start car to go back home, I occasionally get all the selector lights at once. It usually clears if I cycle through P,R,D. and car is fine.
However, on a couple of occasions leaving home, I have reversed out of the drive, then within half a mile the gearbox "clunks" on a gearchange, car then appears to run in "safe mode" and I get an "auto-gearbox" message in the display. Stopping and re-starting the car clears the fault.
At the moment I am not concerned as car runs fine 99.99% of the time.
Just wondering if anyone has suggestions? Possibly atf level?

cheers
Stef
