With cars of this age, its down to how well the engine has been maintained though.

My MV6 auto has done a 0-60 in 7.7s, I reckon a manual box on an engine in similar condition should manage a 7s.

Lastly, the 3.2 GSi veccy isn't slow in a straight line once you have it in 2nd gear. That may beat the lot.
Totally agree with that straight line speed of a 3.2 veccy c is big style fast  :o

I had a 2000 Vectra 2.5 v6 sri (167bhp?) before i bought the omega, both cars standard.  The omega is faster 0-60 and top end but the vectra was a better handling car.

Don't agree with better handling on a veccy A, horrible things to drive.

In which case your omega is broken ;) - I've driven enough 2.5 Vectra-B's to know what they are like on a selection of difficult bends...

err, its a vectra-b ;).  vectra-a was called chavalier in this country

You're right Daz. The exhaust/chip/duccie kit makes little if any difference over standard, i just like it!! I was happily surprised by Pete's little MX5, they don't feel that quick but they're nippy little tinkers & they handle a treat. However one of the main points was handling & as you, TB & myself know the MV6's handle better than other Migs so in a real race as oppose to a drag the MV6 can hold it's own.
   Still think V6 Cavs & Veccies are a little heavy on the front end handling wise. ::) :D

How about an Omega 3.0 engine in an Astra mk2 ->1000kg roughly? Hehe once the powers in at the ground then its gotta pull hardly any weight! Presuming the bloody thing is running correctly :p

I remember both MkIIs I had - a 1.8GLSi Belmont and a 2.0GTE, neither could get their modest power down, I bet yours will be REALLY interesting ;D :y

Hehe true that! Need to be really in 2nd before WOT can be achieved! But an LSD makes the world of difference, another AstraMk2OC member has one installed and its impressive.......... one day!
