Anyone know what this is
« on: 22 July 2009, 20:20:01 »

Had my car in today to Vx main dealer to check why my iddling is about 400 rpm when cold and hard to start (have to put in in N and slam it into drive while reving) to get the car off the mark. Had the eml light on a few days ago for about ten mins. Service lady rang to say that it is a broken RO 2 sensor (does anyone know what this is? all I know is that they want 255 quid to fix it!!!! >: I thought it was going to be the crank sensor

With my last post on my ecu unit saga and this I could have brought the very last omega 3.2 elite ever built with hardly any miles on it for the repair bills I am having

hmm, whilst there may be an o2 sensor problem, that doesn't tie in with symptoms.

what was the live data for coolant temp?

TB, I have not collected the car yet from them so don't have any further info. The dozy service girl just left me a message on my moby at 4pm leaving the message after I expressly told them to ring my land line as I have no signal what so ever at my house.

It may tie up though what you are saying about it being an o2 sensor though as a few days ago my independant garage ran a diagnostic on it (not tech 2) and they had a code 39 Oxygen sensor 1 - short to box fault! do you think this is what the service girl was meaning?

If so, and when I get the car back and get exactly what it is (will post on here) is that a big job and what price would I be expecting to pay and would it cost the 255 quid she said they want?

Any help would be muchly welcomed  :y  Anyone

I'm unconvinced the o2 sensor is related to your problem - the system is open loop when cold, so in affect, ignores the o2 sensors until warmed up

Thanks TB, I have not got a clue what it is and but will probably have more info on Friday when I collect the car. will they give me the spec test sheet then or do I have to ask for it for them to give it to me?
