2.6 manifold heatshields - daft question
« on: 11 August 2009, 16:59:58 »

Right. Reassembling the 2.6 which I stripped about six months ago... and I'm trying to get the heatshields on the N/S manifold.

Only thing is, I can't remember which way they go on - and they're different to my 3.0, 3D Haynes manual, so I can't compare.

Am I right in thinking the larger piece goes on top, smaller piece on bottom? IT seems the only way the bolts will go in, but its proving a swine of a job to get them into position.
I remember swearing a lot to get them out, though, so it's not a good indication if I'm right or not...

Disregard my question - after spending the last half hour wiggling them, the top one has just popped neatly into place. It's all about surprising the car, sneak up on it so it doesn't have chance to prepare itself...
