Hi guys and girls
Has anyone used blue hyotight, i think thats how you spell it, on the cam cover gaskets, have used the black sealent by vauxhall but found it no good, after a few miles covers start to leak again, used the bolt tightning figures and applied a small amount again but no good, check cover edges all ok, no problems  :( :( :-/

Did you use genuine vauxhall gaskets?

Did you clear the breathers?

Did you only put the sealant in the correct places (2 blobs at front, and bit on half moon)?

Are they genuine gaskets you have used and have you cleaned the breathers out properly? I have done more cam cover gaskets than i've had hot dinners (and i'm a fat git) and ive never had a set fail yet

Ordinarily I would advocate Blue Hylomar for just about anything BUT

I used the genuine Vauxhall sealant when I changed my rocker covers and it worked perfectly. I did however dig about 1/2 pound of crud first from the crank breather (the aluminium lump hiding behind cyl no 5).
