A little help about the paint codes needed

Well need to spray the car.
Found the paint code, and here it is

298/83L: Midnight Black Mica (99-)

So will please someone explain a little this name of the paint. From what I know there are two types of paint regular and metallic paint  and this word Mica is a bit confusing.
Is this regular, metallic paint or something else maybe...?

That would be Pearlescent, instead of Aluminium flakes like Metallic, Pearlescent has teardrop shaped pieces of MICA in it.  :y

yes mate it does work out a bit more expensive if you are getting paint mixed for spray gun use, if its spray cans then you will need basecoat & clearcoat :y

I was going to give the car to the shop to have it resprayed and the guy asked me is it a metallic paint on the car?I had no idea and said probably yes
