I've been attempting to remove the clutch and pulley from the A/C compressor on my "spares" car to swap it with the one on my current Mig which has a fault. I don't know if this is the fault, but it makes sense to have a working part to hand if it is. There is no leak as I've had it checked and there is plenty of gas in the system. The fuse is ok, but the A/C doesn't kick in.
I've removed the belt and the 10mm bolt, it all spins freely, but won't come off. I've given it a soaking with Silkopen just in case it is seized on the splines.

Does anyone know if it should just pull off or is there more to it ?

before i exported my MV6 my a/c compressor clutch was playing up it used to make funny tingling metally noises if the car idled without the a/c on a quick press of the eco button shut it up but i was told by a few people that it was the compressor clutch

I have a siezed compressor too which caused a problem at Newent 
 I went to the scrappy yesterday and found a compressor had fun getting that off the car I am going to attempt to swap it over tomorrow if the weather is ok
 So if I get the old one off it will be disected to see how it comes apart I was thinking of just changing the clutch but  I think the whole thing is seized

Yep, that's what mine used to do occasionally. A quick blip of the throttle would sort it, but mine made the noise with A/C on....until it stopped working completely.

Hi guys
             Just been doing the same tell me about the fun removing the compressor. To help though I have been advised not to bother trying to remove the clutch as it can damage the pump seals. A new compressor comes with the clutch assy as part of the package and you cannot buy a compressor on its own. I purchased all be it a couple of years ago a used one for about £75 with a 3 month warranty and fitted it with new Dowty seals. It works o.k. and the pressure test was good.
               My problem is its all assembled but cannot activate it as there is a circuit fault now that blows the fuse? see my post Hope this helps have fun

In my case it's probably the electro magnet that's thrown a wobbly. Spoke to an A/C specialist today and we looked at a disasembled clutch and pulley. Quite a simple set up really.
Just can't get the darned thing off !!

The A/C chappie showed me a parts catalogue that listed most of the components individually.
