LPG servicing.
« on: 13 September 2009, 08:29:04 »

I have a dualfuel X plated 2.0 16v estate. Am really pleased with the car but need to resolve a few issues.
The car was purchased off of ebay with the last paperwork supported service at 120k. Car has now done 150k. I am most concerned regarding the lpg side of things. On a number of occasions, whilst in this mode, the car has stalled when I have taken my foot off of the accelerator. It only happens at low speeds. However, this is a real pain as the car does not like being moved into Neutral whilst moving to restart. An automatic gearbox warning comes up which thankfully disappears on restart.
I am thinking that I need to service the lpg system by giving it a new filter and perhaps some new spark plugs.
Is this something I can do myself or is there a good lpg servicing firm close to Uckfield in East Sussex?
As I say this is a factory fitted system. The vapouriser is made by Koltec. I can see that after the vapouriser the gas travels to a unit at the front of the car where the single line splits off to the 4 cylinders. Am I right in thinking that this unit is where the filter is located?
Any suggestions welcomed.

re filter, yes sounds like it, post a pic to be sure.
Could be related to your stalling issue i guess. So i would start there. Plugs and ignition take a hammering lpg so will benefit from new plugs. I would guess change every 20k, half the usuall recommended 40k??

But there are more experienced members on this subject, maybe theyll pop in for a chat. :-)
