Intermittant non start now have paperclip codes
« on: 14 September 2009, 12:11:33 »

Little while ago had problem with power sounder activating for no reason. Bought new one and seemed to correct problem for about 5 days then started again. Disconnected power sounder for quiter life! No car has developed a fault which I wonder is connected to immobilizewr system. Engine cranks over but no ignition. Then will start for no reason with nothing being done other than waiting and trying again. I am going to do the paperclip test, but I was wondering if anyone here could give me any advice please...Cheers..Bazzer :y

Okay, done paperclip test and the lights flash (each time repeats 3 times) 1 then 2, 1 then 9, 1 then 3 and 5, and starts sequence over again. Could anybody tell me from this what the problem may be? I've looked at the codes shown here http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1160152415 but I'm none the wiser! :-[  :y thanks everyone! :)

12 is start the reading
19 is crankshaft sensor. you need to replace it mate
135 is teltale ( checklight ) voltage low

so your main problem there is code 19 the cs sensor,
you must replace it or one day you wont be able to start at all.

135 I believe is a bulb, check your lights and see if there is a light out,
might be wrong but someone will correct me on the last code.
Hope that helps a bit. theres a how to for your cs sensor in the maintenance guide, :y

Well you've got a 19 there which will be the starting problem, you need to replace the crank sensor with a genuine Vauxhall one ;)

As Ghost Driver said change your crank sensor for a genuine Vx one as the cheaper ones don't last very long. 135 Telltale checklight can be ignored if your engine management light works.

Sorry Elite Pete and Welung666, didnt see your posts, so not ignoring you on my last! Thank you all for your help, nice to have positive replies that all agree with each other.

Same question to all. Is replacement an easy job? I've got a main stealer not far from me if I need genuine part.
