cam belt kit?
« on: 26 October 2009, 00:38:37 »

Ok, so rather than going to a garage to get my cam belt done, i was going to buy the kit myself and have a friend help me do it (that way i can learn i a lil bit as well)
the only thing now is, where can i get one from?
does it make a difference if its a genuine Vx one or not etc etc?

any advice or a point in the right direction would be great

regards,

Sean

If I were you only get the genuine vx kit, from a main dealer, not a pattern part, not too expensive with a trade card

as said the vx kit or gates do a kit aswell which is o.e (basically there are 3 companys that make timing belts and drive belts) they also offer warranty if it breaks (correctly fitted of course) so the choice is yours which you want to go for

don't need a dealer really for cambelt kit, as mentioned only a few people make them. Most parts places should be fine, lot of people seem to use the Gates kit, never head any serious complaints other than no markings on the belt.
