Belt tensioner snapped... Help...
« on: 25 October 2009, 13:23:10 »

I have just managed to snap the tensioner trying to put the tension damper back on...

At the moment I am completely stuffed and I am hoping that someone has a tension arm that they do not require that they could let me have...

Thank you...

Deleted all the wingey stuff...  Sorry guys, I was feeling ery deflated after I broke it...

I am really having a problem tracking down the part, the Stealers want £56 for it, which I really can't afford at the moment...

The other question I need to ask is, What size allen socket do I need to remove the bracket, all I can see is it is massive...

Will it affect anything in the timing case, or will I just need to replace the seal???

Thank you all...

I have tried Millfield autos and Partco, Linco etc and it would appear to be a Vauxhall only part...

If you have a locking kit on it should not affect the timing,
if you dont then before you start the car check that the timing is correct or you might need new cylinder heads.

It's the fan belt tensioner are that is broke, not the timing tensioner, so I'm hoping that I won't upset anything in the timing case (I really don't want to have to take the tope half of the engine off.)..

I have now managed to pick up the arm from a BMW breakers, Every Vx place I tried haven't got any Omega's let alone the TD...

Thanks everyone for advice...
