another lpg question
« on: 18 November 2009, 09:07:15 »

I'm looking to buy lpg for the mig.
Actually my colleague will buy it in bulgaria and bring it here 8everything except the tank).
Was looking for Landi Renzo or Lovato, cause they are usually mounted here. Anyone has one of these?
Seen Stag on ebay but I  think nobody installs them here so not sure will they be able to install it without problems.
Any advice what to go for is welcome

Well, you don't need any certificate for an MOT. (EDIT: just noticed you're not in the UK so YMMV  :-[) Your insurance company may or may not ask for one.

If you are getting someone to install it, you need to go with their recommendation, IMHO. Otherwise, any little problem will be blamed on you not following their advice.

Despite the fact that there is very little actual difference between any of the LPG systems, installers seem to have their pet systems that they like and won't touch anything else. (My interpretation of that is that they don't know what they are doing so shy away from anything unfamiliar!).

I think doing an install piecemeal by supplying the system yourself and getting a third party to install it is asking for trouble. Either install it yourself or get someone reputable (that doesn't mean LPGA registered!) to supply and fit.

And yes, the Stag kit is very good, IMHO, and you'll find plenty of people who can offer advice on it here.

Kevin the point is.
I can get Landi Renzo or Lovato kit in Bulgaria for less than half of price here. It would be the same one as the ones used here and would be installed in approved LPGA installer cause they are the only ones who can issue the certificate needed for MOT (obligatory if you don't want problems here).
Would buy STAG kit if I could find somebody authorized to install it here, but that has been unsuccessfull for now.
