Please can someone give me a bit of help and advice I need a explanation and possible cause to a acceleration fault I have with my 2000 omega 2.5 V6 CDX it just seems to be holding back when I try to accelerate especially more so if I try to move off at speed or use the kick down it doesn’t like that at all it just will not take off quickly as if I wanted to overtake .
When this happens the engine sounds as if something is blocked or there is a misfire it happens hot or cold doesn’t matter.
I’m just wondering whether it would possibly need a new set of plugs or some injector cleaner , other than that I’m at a loss of the possible cause and how much it will cost me in the end .

Might be barking up the wrong forest but have you thought about a blocked cat or silencer

can cause the symptoms you are having  hth

sounds a bit like DIS pack on way out, or oil in plugs,

Hmmm, one of those you really need to see, or get better description.  Assuming no fault codes stored.

May be worth filling in profile with location - someone nearby may be willing to go for a spin with you, and then have a better idea

exactly the same as mine. I'm going to change the plugs again as it only seemed to start after new plugs were fitted. Ne wleads have already been done and the rocker gaskets replaced.

Distributorless Ignition System ..... ie where all your HT leads come from. It lives at the back of the passenger side bank of cylinders & is a pain in the bum to get to.

oh that bit, my mechanic knows it well. Hopefully it'll be a plug then

Thanks very much for the advice everyone to start with I was about to book it into my vauxhall dealership just for plugs only because i guessed they would do a good job other than a unfamiliar garage .I know vauxhall can be expensive but when they said Oh what we recomend is you have the leads done to as we have to pull on them and they may break .now I can guess getting both done especially leads their talking telephone numbers .Im sorry but I thought you had to pull all leads to remove them from the plugs pmsl, are they trying it on or what, if not any more tips ppl thanks .Sticky
