Cleaning the engine bay
« on: 06 December 2009, 15:31:42 »

My Omega runs great but looks a little un-loved under the bonnet; what should I use to get the engine bay clean? I've heard the pressure washers and steam cleaners are off-limits....thanks.

Dont beleive it mate,a pressure washer does a great job, just dont hold it in one place, keep it on the move and you will be ok.Make sure someone is gently reving it while you are doing it.I have always used degreaser from the pound shop, and just to add, dont spray degreaser on while the engine is cold, always done a spot on job of my cars. :y

GUNK in a spray can works.

Fabulous stuff :y I buy it by the gallon and spray it on a warm running engine with the schultz gun on the compressor. Leave it 5 mins still running and simply hose it off with the jet setting on my hozelock nozzle. ;) :y

Be careful of getting any liquid on the Aircon compressor otherwise the bearings start to squeek.
