3.0 MV6 Error code 87
« on: 09 February 2010, 16:52:48 »

My car is slowly falling apart me thinks.
Problems starting one by one.
First, all lights on Auto Box showing that I probably need to clean the Gearbox selector switch.  (not done yet...)  This is not a rush job as I can select manually.
Next, it's started to run lumpy so I detect a possible misfire. This could be any number of things.  HTs.. Coil pack.. GRRR
But now (And possibly most annoyingly) it's now slipping in 2nd and 3rd gear!.  So I have 1st.. Then nothing.  And Drive does nothing anyhow because it's in limp home mode.

So I do the Paperclip Trick and get error 87 and 31.. (31 cause it's not running...).
87 is: A/C Cutoff Relay Voltage Low
(According to http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1160152415 )

So no codes about why my car sounds like a Subaru or why my gearbox is up the swanny.  So now I'm very confused and am desperate for help.

I need to sort things in this order really.
1 Gearbox slipping.  (as driving everwhere in 1st is annoying!)
2 Gearbox selector
3 Missfire..

Im gonna be totally honest that I thought ATF might be the issue as there are other threads that are hinting that even if you sort the oil out that if the filters are blocked then it will still be an issue.  However, I got a quote for a full Gearbox oil change and to change the filter and Masterfit (supposedly dealer engineers...) say there is no Filter in the gearbox?!
Is this correct?   Is it something that I can do myself because they wanted £80 to just change the oil!
