Early morning white smoke
« on: 02 March 2010, 17:10:54 »

Everyone will get the white smoke on a morning but how long does yours take to go away , if at all. Mine seems to smoke all the time like it's still cold. Less so today when it 7 deg but still a constant stream floating up when stationary.

It's not headgasket problems as it smells clean and as it should. I just thought it should ease off. Temp gauge shows 75deg on my 2.5 facelift and gets warmish but never hot inside. It's running LPG if that makes any difference.

I've ordered a new thermstat in case it's cause it's just not warming up properly

Way too cold ... thermostat replace as you say .... you'll find your consumption improves markedly once thats done !! I'd guess you are overfueling on LPG as its running cold .. and LPG produces a lot more water vapour than petrol does .. which might explain the white "smoke" which is probably condensate not smoke .. :)

As Entwood says, temp sounds a little low but mine has water vapour all the time in this cold weather :y :y

same thing on mine, when you stop at the lights though and see the odd puff of white mist curling up from the rear of your vehicle it can be a little disconcerting at first, but getting used to it  :-/

Certainly on the V6's, there's a lot of displacement there ;) ;)

Blue smoke is the real concern :y :y
