 hi  all

  i have an 2.5 cdx   i dont drive it fast and when i drop my misses off to work ( thru town albeit ) a round trip of around 8 miles the computer takes around 18 - 20 miles  away from fuel in tank ?   
                 how does this compare with others ?

Probably normallish...heavy town traffic kills the fuel consumption on the v6...30-38mpg or more on the motorway but about 16-20mpg around town...maybe even less with lots of stop starts and very short trips...

Will also depend when you last set the average mpg quite possibly as it uses this to work out how many miles you have to go...around town will almost certainly lower the average :y

Consumption is a simple calc of distance/gallons since last reset.

Range is more intelligent, and bases itself on recent consumption over last 10-15miles and reading from fuel gauage.


So, if you have been cruising economically down the motorway, and the range reads 200m, then give it some large around the lanes, it will drop dramatically.  If you then start cruising again, Range will creep back up.
