ignition barrel will not turn
« on: 16 March 2010, 11:37:07 »

Hi Everyone,

I hope someone out there can help me or point me in the right direction, for the lasy couple of days I have had a "sticky" ignition.
In that I mean the key goes in but it takes a lot of wiggling to get the ignition lights on to then start my Omega 2.6 cdx.
Now this morning same again but the barrel will not turn at all, even with the spare key!
Any ideas????????
thanks
Mick

Probably worn a bit and sticking...try squirting some 3 in 1 oil into the ignition barrel to lubricate it...should do the trick :y

A quick squirt of lube (I.E. 3in1 or PTFE spray not WD40) into the barrel should help it. Have a look in the maintenance guides for the re-con thread, pop it out, clean it and grease it up :y

Tap it with a socket, mine worked after this evan with the stearing lock locked but dont hit it to hard as the outer part of barral is now f...t on mine where I just kept on doing this instad of changing it, allthough it still works it looks as though sombody has tryed to steel the car. I hope this works for yours as well

wellung semms to be better option though
