if EML light is coming on then there will be codes stored, worth updating your profile with your location, we may have members near you with tech2.

Most likely problem is cam or crank sensor, but need to get codes read first...

many thanks for that i had car on computer yesterday and only faults found were old ones. Could this problem possibly be fuel injector (s) or is my omega normally aspirated

As Tunnie says, you have an engine fault as the EML is illuminating albeit sporadically. What makes you think the codes stored were old. Get it back on a code reader, clear all stored codes and start again

th guy at the garage where i took my omega assured me that the only codes he found were old faults and that all sensors were working as they should, he then cleared all of the stored codes. Will get car back to him to read this new fault code next week. many thanks

fuel injectors are bullet proof on the Omega, you need to get a print out of all the codes, and post them up  :y

Your car is normally aspirated ... but it still has injectors. Normally aspirated is related to how it breathes ie normally aspirated or forced induction - turbo or super charged.  :y  :y
Conversly it's possible to to have a forced induction car without injectors ie a carburettor (sp? :-/)

I had exactly the same symptoms on my 2.2 CDX, it was a faulty Cam Sensor. HTH :y
