In a nutshell, YES!

With these blocked the pressure grows in the crankcase and forces it's way through the cam cover gaskets, or anywhere that is a weakness

From what you say the cam cover gaskets must be suspect.  Replacement, and cleaning the breathers, is now the only option. 8-) 8-)
