Omega auto box differences!?
« on: 15 April 2010, 09:10:33 »

Are there any?

going for an auto 3.0/3.2 this time, and was wondering do the auto boxes have any differences between the Elite and MV6's, maybe a CDX if i find a good one.

Do the autos have a sport button for example?!

Also, 1,2 & 3 is selectable.....can i drive off in 1 and shift manually to 2 then to 3 and finally to D. and then back down. sort of like a crude tiptronic

pirtty sure hardware wise all AR35's are the same on the Omega, as are 25's. They may have different ECU's though, depending on age  :-/

There is certainly no difference in the boxes in terms of car trim, CDX/MV6/Elite boxes will all be exactly the same, nothing special was done to them for each model.

Stick it in 1, it stays in 1, stick it in 2 and it used only gears 1&2, stuck it in 3, and it uses 1,2&3.

When i want some fun in the twisties, i usually shift manually, so pull off in 1, then shift to 2, and so on. There is a little delay in doing so, so change before you reach red line  ::)

about a second or two on delay i would say.

2.0's & 2.5/2.6 got AR25 as did 2.5 TD

3.0's and 3.2's got the stronger AR35
