Serek's car has a good set up from what I saw at Wollaton Hall so you cant go far wrong with that.

Where the hanger bar goes through the rubber, try pulling down on the exhaust slightly and push in an old tyre valve or something similar into the hole above or below said bar, this will lower the exhaust slightly and may give you the clearance you require :).
