2.6 auto to manual
« on: 16 May 2010, 23:11:47 »

I'm trying to convert a 2.6 auto to manual, after having a look at the 'how to' on here, I'm a little confused by this:

Ignition Timing Retard
Unplug the engine ECU and remove the connector from its hood (1 screw)
Locate the Bk/R wire on pin 42, cut off as far from pin 42 as possible (can do this further up the loom if preferred) then solder to one of the thin Brown wires and tape joint.

I'm guessing this is for the older cars with only one ecu plug, so I'm wondering what I'm supposed to do to my car as it has two ecu plugs and different wiring? also what is Ignition Timing Retard? and what does this do?

Easy way is to modify it to manual settings via Tech2
