Washer Bottle Advice
« on: 11 July 2010, 18:27:57 »

Chaps,

I've spent most of the day fitting a (secondhand) replacement washer bottle for SWMBO's car and trying to seal a leak! Not only did I have fun and games with both pumps not sealing very well in their respective rubbers but I eventually realised that what I thought was the windscreen pump leaking was a tiny pin prick of a hole which I've tried to seal with a hot screwdriver, then soldering iron, then a blowtorch  :o Can I get it to seal? Can I b***ery >:( I wonder if the plastic gets weak/porous 'cos it just wont stop leaking!

Anyway, off the top of your head, does anybody know how much roughly a new washer bottle would be and if they're still available? It's for an Elite with headlamp washers ie the bigger style. Do they come with new rubbers?

Thanks for any help.

One for the breakers on here surely? Not known for failing so plenty available I would think.

The replacement I got was off a breaker (not from anybody on here I hasten to add) but that leaked. Just wondered if a; new ones were available and b; roughly how much rather than spend more money on another potential leaky one!
