Performance Upgrade Omega 3.0 V6 (Facelift 2001)
« on: 22 July 2010, 11:25:55 »

Hi,
I am trying to get some more performance (both Speed and MPG) out of my Omege 3.0 V6 Elite 2001.

I have heard M-Tek chips are good, however I can not find anywhere that sells them.
Does anyone know who i can contact?
Or is it better to get the car re-mapped?

I am looking to spend £300 max on the upgrades.
(The only thing ive done so far is to put in a K&N panel filter)

Also I have an Irmscher rear bumper (the type that has two exhaust back box holes at either end).
The only thing left is to actually buy an exhaust system that is the original irmscher type for the bumper
(new or 2nd hand) or get a custom made one.
Does anyone now of some that is selling one, or a garage that i can get one made?
I live in Birmingham, West Midlands.

Many Thanks in Advanced.

If you go down the remap route your not going to get much change out of your budget, will it be worth it,  personally I dont think so, may be play around with some second hand chips and see what you think first. other than that your looking at gas flowing the top end and maybe playing with the exhaust system.

Or just spend your budget on getting back some of those lost horses from original.

Not masses you can do.

For starters, rip out the K&N, and put a genuine GM filter in.  Chip it.  Maybe a little bit of head porting.  This is the state my 3.0l auto is in, I think further mods will involve an awful lot of money...
