temp ?
« on: 25 July 2010, 00:58:28 »

hi all have had alot of over heating problems. The other day i used a strong chemical 2 part cooling system flush. Loads of crap came out it took me 3hours to flush properly untill the water ran clear.
The temp used to run OVER 100 and since i done the flush running 95-97.5 much better.
i would just like to know if this is an average temp for a 3.0 v6 ? also what temp should the first fan speed kick in ? MANNY THANKS :)

My 3.0 runs at 88-89 C. If I am sitting in a traffic jam on a hot day it does go up to 92-93. I believe this is normal for the 3.0.
I am not sure at what temp the fans should kick in. ;)

Yup, should rise to 97ish in traffic, fans come on, back to 95, it should never go past 100  :y

I think from what you first described you have flushed enough. ;) ;)

Your engine temp sounds perfectly ok to me; as already said as long as it does not go above 100 it is all ok. 8-) 8-) 8-)

Miggy V6's run very hot as standard. :) :)

might be worth doing a gas test on the block to make sure it isnt cracked, are you losing water on the rad?(white salt marks)
