Facelift Glovebox
« on: 28 July 2010, 18:51:31 »

How do you remove and refit the glovebox on a facelift miggy?
Also need to mention that my lock barrel seems to be missing all of it pins/parts??? Can i get a new locking barrel to work with my key or do i just have to leave it as it is (unlocked)?

Such a missed oppurtunity.
Look forward to the Cadillac ATS & ATS-V. Maybe a re-badged one will replace the Miggy as a RWD runner?

Unlikely to get glovebox lock barrel to match existing key. If you`re that concerned about having it locked I`ve got a key blade with matched lock.

I've probably locked my glove box in my car a hand full of times ever. However I can't see it being difficult to match a few of the 'new' lock tumblers to your existing key. IIRC on one car I played with the glovebox on, it only used a few tumblers compared with the ignition & door locks anyway.  ;)

Personally I can`t see the need to have the box locked........each to his own though
