One side is a family where both parents are great examples of why the NHS is costly and in-effective, they live at the gym and have created a rain forest in the front garden and I get dirty looks when I 'trim' it with a petrol hedge trimmer!.

The other side is a Caribbean lady of about 60 who has 9 kids (all left home), she is brilliant, help her out with a few DIY jobs. She bakes us real Jamaican ginger cakes which are about 90% proof!

Directly across the road is Mr Ignorant, he does not speak to anybody so I feel it is my duty to say hello to him very loudly every time I see him!

The other few neighbours are brilliant, very friendly and we all help each other out.

The one common thing though is the fact that you have a Close full of salesmen, NHS managers and accountants.....and they are all rather useless at DIY  ;D

Last time we went to one of teh neighbours I sued the downstairs toilet and came out laughing....he asked me what was wrong...

....I said that it was amusing that the toilet roll and holder was on the floor and where it should be was 18 holes in varying postion!

Uhhmmm, errrr, anyone who has used my downstairs one may have noticed a soap dish and matching roll holder still in the box on the floor...  ...one of those jobs I never got round to  :-[

In my defence, hardly worth it until we decorate, seeing as we have a perfectly functional toilet roll holder fitted by the builders...

When it comes to decorating, I lost all confidence in my old house - I went to immulsion the walls, and lumps of plaster kept falling off on the roller.  Meant a days painting took several weeks, as we had to keep filling the holes :(

I need to start decorating this place (been here 7yrs next month), but confidence is a problem  :'(

Never do today what you can put off till tomorrow!
I did our ensuite bathroom about 3 years ago. The toothbrush/tumbler holder is still in its box tucked away behind the cystern! ::) I think it's become like a signature .... I never ever quite finish a room! :y  :y

I promised Sue a new sink, and she is still annoyed I bought a spoiler for the car but not a sink. About 18 months ago

A sink would look silly on a car!
