DTi Fan / coolant pump constantly running
« on: 10 August 2010, 20:42:05 »

Hello all

Down in Sunny / Rainy Cornwall.

DTi Estate has developed a fault - the Radiator fan (the one on the rear of the radiators under the bonnet is continuosly running as well as the electric coolant pump (?) attached to the drivers side of the radiator when the engine is off. Know they can run on but not forever!

Coolant temp from ECU seems correct when read with Opelscanner.

Anything obvious to check? Have the DTi Elite here so can swap parts over to test.

Thinking stuck relay?

Many thanks

Right, have only just read your replies TB!

However have reconnected the fans etc and tapped the orange relay in position 7 (though the shock could have shocked others!) and the fan and pump stopped!

Part number 90 459 640, 22 210 034 is on the Orange one if anyone has one!
