(seriously though, welding is only a really temporary fix, get a genuine one on there asap, mate.)

Did you sort out any spare tyre/wheels Ross?

Ask your self a simple question.

If it was fine to fit a single piece solid casting then why would the manufacturer go to the added expense and material cost of producing a more complex 2 piece unit with a rubber coupler.

And remember, its not neccassarily the crank it might affect.....there are quite a lot of ancillaries running off that kevlar belt
