2.5 sump gaskets. Do they fit 2.6's?
« on: 23 October 2010, 13:33:50 »

Having phoned my local main dealer this morning to get a load of parts prices, I was told that for the 2.6 there is no sump gasket, only sealant. However a gasket is available for the 2.5.

Now, I really don't like the idea of using sealant to seal a sump, especially when there is the risk of it getting sucked into the oilways.

So, is the 2.5 sump gasket compatible with the 2.6, or is the bottom of the block a different design?

In advance, cheers. :)

My 3.0 lower sump is glued on with grey sealant, it comes in a short silicon sealer type cartridge that you use a skeleton gun with. It's the way it should be done AFAIK
