Have a look for a member here called Martin Imber. He repairs them at a great price and the service is excellent :y

No, you will need the car pass to have keys/remotes added.

Martin Imber will replace the 3 switches for around a tenner. Not sure if he replaces the battery at same time, but believe he ensures that the battery holder is good.

I do not believe he changes the rubber front, so I would buy one of these (about £5 delivered from egay), and send that to him as well.

Carpasses are between £15 and £50 + VAT, depending on dealer.

A 3 button fob for an alarmed facelift costs £27+VAT (earlier this year) - so don't buy them from that egay seller charging £60 for them!!!)

To program a 'new' (either brand new, or 2nd hand one that has never been programmed to your car before) requires the security code from the carpass, and a tech2.

*Vaux-com (and presumably "My Naff Code Reader", although they were never released in the UK) does sometimes make a mess of programming keys, and I would choose another tool to do it, even if it means going to dealer, walking around back of workshop, and giving one of the mechanics a bung ;)

Beware that there are at least 3 different types of 3 button key available, they are not that easy to identify, especially if they have been fitted into new cases so the markings can't be relied upon. With this in mind it's a better bet to buy new from a dealer, IMHO.

You could quite easily end up paying twice, or more, if buying on Ebay.
