cos I knew I'd never want to use TM and as said, the TM switch looks like it was an afterthought ..... because it was.  ;)
And also, which ever dealer fitted it, used a loom that wasn't intended for use with a CCRT700 and so consequently it would NOT latch onto the back of the radio cage which made refitting the radio a PITA. The car's loom fitted properly on the back of the radio & gave a load more room behind it.

I'm just about to list a few items in the 'for sale' section and I have the plastic trim piece with the hole already in place...
May save modifying the trim you have?

Yup, the standard ccrt700 tm loom was stupid. Key was to fit radio in cage, they slide the whole lot in as one.

Fortunately, GM came to their senses, and fitted a better loom with latches to later ones (facelifts)

Or use an NCDR1x00 cage from an Astra - not a full cage, just big enough to hold radio in place - thats what I use in my MV6
