auto problem

hi all can sum 1 help i have just got a omega 2.2 auto on a 02 reg when you are driving it goes in to nutral you put it in to 3 and back in to drive and it is ok.or sum times it wont gear up or down or sport buton will not work you turn car off and start it back up and it will be ok :

fluid level would be my first check  :-/ other than that, I'm not sure

2.2 with auto box, first thoughts, check the atf as said, get the codes read for possible cam sensor issues as thess are a weekness on the 4 pots and known to upset the auto box. Other than that and checking the selector switch it doesnt sound good if its jumping out of gear.

How many miles has it done and was the fluid ever changed?

yes but now and then there all cum on
Not sure if that means its its in limp mode? Drives in 3rd gear only, so sport mode wont work, thrn re start it and its fine.

Need to get it on tech 2 preferably, dont bother with a dealer.
