handbrake shoes

I'd reccomend for someone else to do the job, horrible things those handbrake shoes are.


Are you sure it is the shoes that are knackered, and not just adjustment that is needed?

not sure but got MOT tomorrow so was pricing up just incase  ;)
adjustment is the star key through hole in disc  :question please advise if wrong  :y

Both the 'star' type adjuster through the hole in the discs and the compensator bar under the car in about the middle.

My handbrake was awfull, resulting in me fannying about changing the shoes. I reckon just changing the disc and adjusting would have solved the problem a lot easier.

things you learn, when i first got car i hadnt heard of oof and had handbrake adjusted at garage, after much sucking of teeth and being told that heat shields and exhaust had to come off to be able to do it i parted with£160    lesson the hard way i guess  :'(
