heavy fumes

I have a omega 2.2 dti and in cold weather I get heavy fumes from a vent at the front off side just infront the wheel.can you help

Yep, its a diesel run pre heater and its normal on the 2.2 DTi ;)

It shouldn't be smoking. I wonder if the air intake is restricted, or the fan not working at its best and incomplete combustion occurring?

It is effectively a tiny oil fired heating boiler. It seems odd to me that the manufacturer hasn't made them easier to service :-/
