Leccy Height Adjustment - Worm Drive?
« on: 19 March 2011, 00:39:25 »

Hi Folks,

Quick question...

The passenger front seat isn't as quick going up and down as it used to be.  Having a flick through the Maintenance Guides (such an exciting life I lead on a Friday night...  :-[  :D ), I saw this helpful guide:
http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1163236766

I've ran my hand from the top to the bottom of the threaded part of the shaft (which I assume is the worm drive), from the back of the seat, and towards the motor-side (at the front), there's a bearing of some sort which attaches to nothing?  It just spins freely? Double-checked it with driver-side, and that has exactly the same bearing attached to nothing - or so it would seem?

By the way - driver's side goes up and down electrically just fine, prob cos when the wife drives, she has the seat right up to the top, but I prefer it lower down.

I can see "how" the worm drive works, with there being moving brackets between the seat base and the seat frame which will alter the height depending if it's wound up or down (and move it closer to the pedals on the up-wind, and further away on the down-wind), but can't see or feel any bracket which attaches the seat brace to the frame - if that makes any sense??  :-[  The worm-drive just seems to be "floating" to me - am I missing something???

Cheers  :y

Sorted it now - I was just over-analysing things...  :-[

Stuck to the guide, and now the seat's going up and down like a good un!  :D
