Autobox
« on: 04 April 2011, 15:34:03 »

Ok looking on the negative side here. Have managed to locate and have ordered the solonoid and gaskets to hopefully cure my P0743 code and get het out of limp mode. I have been told it is eaither the solonoid or torque converter and am taking the cheaper option 1st. Should this fail how easy or difficult to drop the auto box and replace torque converter. Is there any obstacles I will come across apart from the weight. Is it a straight forward job taking into consideration am not a mechanic.

P0743 is the lockup clutch solenoid circuit, from memory, so that's an electrical fault code. There's nothing electrical in the torque converter itself so it's certainly not that IMHO.

Cheers hope you are right. Was only following instructions from some at an auto transmission workshop. Presumed he knew what he was talking about.
